Query on rec.games.bridge Newsgroup
: I'm looking for movement cards for 5, 7 and 11 Tables.
: One-Session Individuals. Can anyone help me out?
Yep, you're in luck! All your table numbers are prime.
The following movement will not work otherwise.
Here's what you do:
The RAINBOW movement
--------------------
There are 5 components: Boards, N, E, S, and W.
One component must be stationary. Make it the boards - easier.
So from round to round, the boards remain fixed.
At the end of each round, the players use the following structure:
N : moves up one table
E : moves down one table
S : moves up two tables
W : moves down two tables.
To achieve some sort of balance, seed the field. There should be an equal
mixture of strengths in each direction. :)
Numbers: for a 7-table movement,
N's are 1-7; E's are 8-14, S's are 15-21; and W's are 22-28.
You can play 3-boards per round, and with N fixed, the other 3 players
rotate around him playing 1-board in each partnership at the table. At
the end of the round, however, let them get back to their starting
positions as they arrived at the table, then call the move.
In other words, E's move as E always from table to table.
